Pirates of the Caribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Based on Will's suggestion, Angela and I rented Pirates of the Caribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. We enjoyed the movie. The pirate skeleton effects were nicely done. That's some of the best CG work I have ever seen. I was a bit disappointed that Macenzie Crook's character didn't have more meat (pardon the pun). I was however pleased to see another one of my fav British actors, Jack Davenport, from the BBC show Coupling. The writing of his character didn't expose much depth but Jack's performance was several notches above the cliches that you would normally expect in this type of role.

This is also the first I have seen Keira Knightley, who played the love interest in the film. She is stunningly beautfiful and played her part quite well. From her IMDB page I see that she was in Bend it like Beckham which is another film I've been wanting to see. That also stars Paraminder Nagra who has been a breath of fresh air on this season of ER.
