Maple Cream Blondie

A few weeks ago I had an astonishingly delicious dessert at Teller's in Hyde Park. Their Maple Cream Blondie was a study in delicious contrast. The butterscotch blondie was served warm and topped with vanilla ice cream which was then drizzled with pecans and maple butter. This dish had warm and cold, soft and crunch, sweet and salty. Absolutely delicious.

I am pleased to say though that I have discovered that this is a pretty easy dish to recreate in your home kitchen. Last night I took Tyler Florence's Blondies recipe, cut it into squares, topped with good vanilla ice cream, toasted pecans and real maple syrup. This was every bit as delicious, rich and satisfying as the dish from Teller's. I think I could even improve on the sauce a bit more if I made my own Maple butter.
