So I am a week late but here are my New Year's Resolutions for 2008.
- Weight Loss - I've already doneone year of weight loss but since then I have really slacked off. I'm back up to 215lbs. I'd like to get down to 180. I am not planning on doing anything radical for this weight loss, just sticking to my old plan.
- Media Organization - I hope to finish my project of adding captions and IPTC keyword metadata to my collection of digital photographs. Right now I have the years 2003-2006 yet to be completed (and of course all new photos need to go through this process). In addition to that, I need to get a more solid backup plan in place as well. Going forward I need to address a more rational plan on how to store, access and backup my growing collection of digital media. Lastly, once the captioning and tagging is complete, I'd like to work on geocoding the photographs.
- Home Improvement - I'd like to take on and complete some standard home improvement tasks like replacing the thermostat with a programmable one and wrapping the hot water pipes with insulation. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff but the house has a way of adding new stuff to the Todo list without seeking your approval first.

Hey Mark - good luck with the resolutions! You and I have met once before, I believe... I'm a friend of Jason V's.
Anyway, wanted to offer some suggestion on #2; I'd suggest you take two steps. First, got to Microcenter and pick up one or two 500GB external USB drives - they're selling them for $109 right now which is a pretty hot deal. Second, sign up with Mozy or Carbonite & let them roll. It'll take a long time to get the initial backup complete (even on a relatively fast connection), but it's great once you're past that point. I've got more info on my blog here:
