Filler

<blog>

Needed something here because the main page looks bad with no entries.

Been very busy the last couple weeks -- moved into a new home and am up to my neck in boxes, bags, piles of miscellaney, and other associated items that only seem to appear when you need to pick up everything you own and put it in a different building.

And now, some random thoughts:

- I would like to open the world's first inconvenience store. It would only be open a couple hours each day, and I'm not going to tell you where it would be located.

- Why do we call an appliance that makes the air cooler an "air conditioner"? If we assume that "conditioning" the air makes it more comfortable, then it is just as correct to refer to a heater as an air conditioner. Why not call it a "cooler"?

- The abbreviation for "Drive" and the abbreviation for "Doctor" are the same -- "Dr." I bet nobody has ever mixed the two up.

- Some rooms in a house are named after the contents (bedroom, bathroom), while others are named after activities performed (living room, dining room). I have no idea why "kitchen" missed that boat.

- This morning, I bumped into a bird with my car. I think it survived, since I wasn't going too fast. I still, however, feel kind of bad about it.

- Whatever happened to Spanglish and Ebonics?

I don't understand why this is so popular.

Maybe I'm missing something.
