Idiots

<thoughts>

Last night, I heard on the news that Scott Peterson has been receiving numerous calls at prison from eligible young bachelorettes, some who are proposing marriage.

It is bad enough that there are people who are proposing to someone who is on death row for murder. However, I fully fail to understand how knowing that he is there for murdering his WIFE can make someone think of him as marriage material (unless the thinking is along the lines of, "Hey, what are the odds he would do that two times in a row?" -- although serial killer Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez also managed to land a bride in jail, so go figure).

I am just at a loss for words.

Dear News Media,

<thoughts>

It is pretty sad that I live in a country that has become so afraid of litigation that the news media falls back on using terms like "the alleged shooter" or "the suspect" when referring to events that clearly have the perpetrators identified... such as the recent courthouse shooting in Atlanta, and today's massacre in Minnesota.

They did it. We know who they are. Stop trying to pretend they might be innocent.

Interesting Tidbits

<thoughts>

So in the interest of filling up some more space on the main page, I am sharing links to two news stories I just read. One is quite freakish, wierd, and disgusting, and the other is very cool.

1. Girl's Sex Play Shooting Waived To Court - "The girl and the 23-year-old Madden were engaged in 'bedroom activities' when the gun discharged, police said. Details are graphic, but police said the incident involved a .45-caliber handgun with a condom on it, and the weapon somehow went off."

If you HAVE to do something like that, shouldn't you at least make sure the gun isn't loaded?

2. 13 Things That Do Not Make Sense - While a lot of this is over my head, this is a fascinating read about scientific happenings that seem to defy all known laws and generally have no explanation at all.
